What are the different question types and which should I use?
There are 11 different question types and an option for a lesson. The best question type depends on your content, academic level of participants and the type of zApp you are creating.
We recommend making yourself familiar with all the question types as they have many different benefits and purposes.

- Extended Response allows participants to write a response to the question or prompt. This question is not self-correcting and the teacher needs to view the work and provide a mark.
- Matching is a self-correcting question that allows participants to rearrange items to match the appropriate pair.
- Multiple Choice is a self-correcting question where students select the correct answer out of as many other options as necessary.
- Multiple Response is a self-correcting question where students select as many applicable answers from a selection of answers.
- Multiple Sub-Question is a self-correcting question which contains several similar-style sub-questions to practice the learning task.
- Numerical/Embedded is a self-correcting question where pre and post details can be completed.
- Short Answer/Embedded is the same as Numerical/Embedded but with letters and words, not numbers.
- Sorting is a self-correcting question that allows participants to rearrange and order items.
- Survey offers multiple-choice type single selection statements that are tallied without being right or wrong. The survey question is also used to create assessment Rubriks that allow students to self assess a project based on clearly defined criterea that can be awarded points appropriate to the response. The teacher can then amend the students selections as required.
- True or False is a self-correcting question where participants have to choose true or false.
